Installing the Dishwasher, Sink, and Garbage Disposal

Plumbing and heating contractor Doug Buchanan is ready to install the Kenmore Elite dishwasher and the Kohler Dickinson sink (with garbage disposal).

We are at that stage where finesse meets brute force and I am not that great at either. Dishwashers are finicky creatures and require more plumbing than a freaking toilet.

  1. Truly informative! I needed a reference that highlighted basic wood frame construction methods & techniques where this Shed Plans were best shedbuilder.work I am pleased with the depth and clarity of this Shed Plans. It was really convenient to capture!

  2. No, don't do any of this. I'm not a plumber and even I know not to permanently glue to the house pipe. That's a big no no.

  3. Really??? So next time you have to replace the disposal or clean out the trap, you have to cut the pipe on the wall. Unbelievable that this has 213 likes.

  4. Not a very good video. How about showing how the water supply line is hooked up also ? Too many gaps and questions unanswered. Really surprised because this is Bob Villa video.

  5. ARE YOU SELLING A DISHWASHER OR GETTING KICKBACKS FOR TELLING US ABOUT IT OR INSTALLING THE FUCKING SHIT YOU PUT IN THE TITLE ???

  6. NEVER install an S-Trap! Bob Villa called it an S-Trap in error. You install a P-Trap which is shaped like a P laying down head first with the rounded portion aiming downward. The P-Trap holds water in the rounded portion to prevent sewer gasses from coming up your drainage piping and into the kitchen. Not only smells bad but highly un-sanitary! An S-Trap will remove the water from the lower portion of th S-Trap by siphoning it out when the water drains over upper bend of an S-Trap. Please don't do what Bob says in the video and install an S-Trap! Install a P-Trap! An S-Trap is not only stinky and un-sanitary but against all Plumbing Codes for these reasons.

  7. Is that the Romex wire just coming out of the wall doing a 45 and 90 back into the electrical box? lmao Why not just directly wire the Romex directly into the dishwasher without a appliance wire if the Romex is just hanging out in cabinet cavity? And why the hell does he say disposal like that? You French?

  8. If you don't have the air gap it will cause cancer in California. The water from the new unit comes from testing in the factory.
